  2. Two ideas:
    1. About the $770 in child care -- do either of you have a flexible savings account (FSA) that would dramatically cut the net cost of child care? If not, since you are on the management team of your company, can you suggest that the company implement FSAs and HSAs? You can contribute up to $5,000 to an FSA....
    2. Second "job"
    Are you being paid as a contractor or as an employee? If you are being paid as a contractor, you can deduct business expenses (such as cell phone) against revenue. There are tons of web sites and books about this. You file on a simple Schedule C at tax time.
